The Klingon F5 was a strange bird in the Alpha Octant, being either the largest frigate or the smallest destroyer. Neither fish nor fowl, it was hard to fit it into a neat category. The Klingons, noting that they were short a medium-sized "war destroyer" class, tried this as a solution, adding a third engine and more internal systems to an F5, producing the unique "frignaught" design. While successful, it was inefficent to build, and the Klingons moved forward with a new ship that was an expansion of the F5 design (the F5W). Despite that, the F6 was a ship popular with its crews and the fleets that were lucky enough to get some of them assigned. The ships were named after the warrior colonies (e.g., Bakurian, Walkurian).
The ships of the Starline 2500 series are cast in pewter, have supremely high detail, and are in a larger (1/3200) scale than the earlier, metal 2400 series of miniatures. The ships of either series will work with Star Fleet Battles, Federation Commander, A Call to Arms, or Starmada.
