I have enjoyed this space strategic game for almost 40 years, and this 2016 Fighter Operations rules update nearly perfects this portion of the rules and scenarios. If you've got the 1992 version of this book already, don't bother with this. The updates are extremely minor, as near as I can tell.

If you haven't got the old version, though, get this book! It's great at explaining how to use drones, high energy turns, tractor beams, transporter bombs, oblique attacks, the Gorn Anchor, shuttles, reserve power, and so much more! Every faction up to the Wyn, LDR, and ISC is discussed in detail, including reviews of some of their more common ships....

At long last, something proper to hunt pirates in! The fluff around the different national guard ships was fun to read....

A great set of scenarios and useful ships for playing non-traditional battles.
